About Honest

President Commissioner

Will Ongkowidjaja is a co-founder of Honest. Will is an entrepreneur and investor with a background in top-tier investment banking and management consulting. Will is also a co-founder and Founding Partner of Alpha JWC Ventures, Indonesia’s leading venture capital firm.

Prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, Will’s experiences include being a Director at UBS Investment Bank and a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Will was educated at Harvard University as an Edward S. Mason Fellow for his Master of Public Administration, and at UCLA for his Master of Business Administration. Will also received his Underwriter and Broker Dealer licenses in Indonesia.

Outside of work, Will is passionate about education and health. Will serves on the International Advisory Council of Singapore Management University, and is an avid Crossfitter who enjoys competing in Spartan races.

Commissioner

Peter Panas is a co-founder of Honest.

Prior to Honest, Peter built two successful credit cards as Vice President of Product Management:

Apple Card by Goldman Sachs: fastest growing credit card in the United States
Mission Lane Card: first credit card fintech to reach unicorn status in the United States

Peter received his Master of Business Administration from UCLA and his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Minnesota State University.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys meditation and playing soccer.

Independent Commissioner

Julianto is a renowned business leader in Indonesia. Julianto built his career at Accenture for over 26 years spanning multiple leadership roles, types of work, industries, clients, and geographies including serving as Indonesia Country Managing Director, member of Accenture’s ASEAN Leadership Council, and various regional leadership roles.

Julianto is currently serving as a Commissioner of XL Axiata, one of Indonesia’s leading telecommunications companies, and as Board Audit Committee member at Ace Hardware Indonesia, a leading retailer in Indonesia. He is also active as a mentor / advisor at a venture capital firm, several technology start-ups in various stages of their journey, and at non-profits Endeavor Indonesia and Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa.

Julianto obtained his Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from John Hopkins University. He also earned his Master of Business Administration from UCLA. Outside of work, Julianto loves ballroom dancing, scuba diving, and traveling the world.

President Director

Dharu is a seasoned credit card professional with over a decade of experience in payments and retail banking in Indonesia.

Dharu built her career at Bank Mandiri where she first joined as a Management Trainee and grew to manage the credit cards businesses. Prior to building Honest, Dharu's role at Mandiri was Head of Product Management, where she led a team to build products and loyalty platforms for the consumer and commercial segments.

Dharu received her Master of Business Administration from Cranfield University with a full scholarship from Bank Mandiri and her Bachelor in Economics from Universitas Islam Indonesia. She is a railway enthusiast and is learning to preserve traditional textile by collecting “wastra/kain” from various parts of Indonesia.

Finance Director

Mikael is an experienced credit card finance and accounting leader. Prior to building Honest, Mikael was the Financial Controller at American Express Indonesia where he was also a Director.

Previously Mikael’s experience was at Deutsche Bank and UOB Bank in Indonesia. Mikael started his career as an Auditor at KPMG in Singapore.

Mikael received his Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University of Technology. Mikael is a Certified Public Accountant.

Risk Director

Sanjay is a seasoned retail banking professional with over 25 years experience at Standard Chartered Bank where he worked across multiple geographies, business and functions.

Prior to building Honest, Sanjay was part of the founding team to build Standard Chartered’s digital only bank in Hong Kong - Mox as the Chief Risk Officer. Sanjay has held a number of Global positions across Fraud and Risk where he leveraged alternative data as well as analytics to truly develop a differentiated experience for customers. Sanjay has also previously worked in Indonesia as the Risk Head of the Retail Business of Permata Bank.

Sanjay received his Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, India, and his Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India.

Compliance Director

Arief is an experienced financial services legal and compliance counsel.

Prior to building Honest, Arief worked at SEA Group where he managed the legal and compliance department. Arief started his career as a corporate lawyer at HHP Law Firm (Baker & McKenzie) focusing on the financial services sector.

Arief received his Master of Laws (LLM) from Cornell Tech, New York with a full scholarship from the Indonesian Government and his Law Degree from Universitas Indonesia.
